Once the go to retro holiday destination, Long Jetty is now making a comeback in a big way. Celebrate this new found future at the Long Jetty Street Festival – Sunday 22 November!
Located between the tranquil Tuggerah Lake and beautiful Toowoon Beach, Long Jetty now exudes a gritty, inner city-esque vibe. The transformation of the area can largely be credited to a network of creative locals & businesses who have come together as the Long Jetty Locals Inc. to create a community event, the likes of which the Coast has never seen before. With the support of Wyong Shire Council & team who brought you Cast Off! in Woy Woy this year, Sunday 22nd November 2015 is set to be the party of the year.
Curated and hosted by local blues legend Kris Morris, the SAILOR JERRY LIVE STAGE will also feature sets from local heroes Pepa Knight, Tropical Zombie, Sea Legs, Anabelle Kay & The Moving Stills.
The LONG JETTY HOTEL CAR PARK will showcase local craft brewers such as Erina’s own Six String Brewing Co., Newcastle’s Murray’s Brewing Co., Batlow Cider along with pop-up cocktail bars from Ettalong’s Bar Toto and a classic car “Show’N’Shine”, brought to you by Beaurepaires.
FOOD TRUCK ALLEY will serve up at smorgasbord of gourmet offerings including Newcastle’s own El Poco Loco, Mrs Piggy’s Wheels, Common Ground’s famous “Hot Rocks” BBQ, The Hungry Traveller, latest catch from Woy Woy Fisherman’s Wharf and many, many more.
For Families & those who refuse to grow up, the KIDS ZONE will have plenty to keep you occupied, featuring jumping castles, circus performers, face painting, bike hire and a mechanical surfboard.
Kids can also get involved with the interactive ART PRECINCT, curated by the Long Jetty duo of Dapper Darlings fame, Dan and Linda Coy. This gateway to the event will feature showcase local artists alongside some of the best names in Australia, with live art installations from Tori Rose Wright, Sarah Staunton and graffiti artists Billy.R & Jessy.D plus contributions to the famous ‘Welcome To Long Jetty’ mural by Dan Coy (Tattoo Artist) and Sydney artist Lauren Webster.
For those simply wanting to enjoy the sunshine & relax, A LAKESIDE CHILL ZONE will be created down by Tuggerah lake, featuring the laid-back musical stylings of the Mountain Sounds Festival DJ’s amongst a spread of deckchairs, picnic rugs plus some of the best general market vendors on the coast.
Avoca café and green-thumbed bandits Like Minds will also unveil their brand-spankin’ new venture LIKE MIND’ BACKYARD which aims to showcase and educate folks on how to create their own backyard mini-farm with workshops on home beekeeping, worm farms and composting, plus sustainable living, produce & seedlings stalls.
The Long Jetty Street Festival will take place from Thompson Street through to Long Jetty Reserve.
