The wheels are turning in Gosford and the waterfront is continuing to grow. The latest catalyst is the new Tommy’s Cafe that opened on Gertrude Place last week. We love Tommy’s #1, so we didn’t hesitate to try out Tommy’s #2.
The Tommy’s Cafe is located in a recently renovated building that lends itself to a bright and airy coastal feel. The brand new building means the café is beautifully styled from the wallpaper, to the windows and right down to the dishes that your meal arrives on. It is a lovely combination.
The service in the café was attentive and quick. The staffs were friendly and cheerful, adding to the atmosphere of the café which was overall – relaxed and content. At the time Central Coast Weekender visited, Tommy’s Cafe was quite busy and popular.
The café has access via a few steps and via a ramp for anyone needing flat access. Open parkland is located between Gertrude Place and the Central Coast Highway if you want to relax on the grass with your coffee.
Central Coast Weekender road tested the coffee and milkshakes. The coffee was great, and the milkshake’s were happily gulped by the Weekender kids!
The breakfast menu at the café runs until 11:30 am and a lunch menu for the rest of the day. There is a good combination of classics and more adventurous choices. The bacon and eggs looked like a tummy filler!
Tommy’s Cafe is within walking distance of the residential areas surrounding Gosford. A number of customers were coming and going on foot. It was a small snapshot of what a revitalised Gosford will look like. If you are travelling by car, parking is available.
The café is in a top spot to enjoy some breakfast before starting out on a ride on the Point to Pelicans Cycleway. Hopefully, a bike rack might be added out the back in a few more months. You could also go for a swim at Gosford Pool before grabbing lunch.
Tommy’s Cafe #2 is on the corner of Gertrude Place, Gosford.
We’ll be back at Tommy’s Cafe, if anything it’ll be hard to choose between Tommy’s #1 and Tommy’s #2!
Have you tried out a new café lately?
